Viking Osiris unveils Nile river itinerary
Viking’s incoming ship Viking Osiris will operate 12-day cruises on the Nile from August. The Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, departing on August 24, calls at Qena, Esna and Aswan, all Egypt, and starts from £5,165. The 82-passenger vessel has been floated out and is in the final stages of construction.

MSC Preziosa to offer cruises from Southampton next winter

MSC Cruises’ MSC Preziosa will offer sailings to northern Europe from Southampton during the 2022-23 winter season. The 4,345-passenger vessel will operate seven-night
sailings calling at Hamburg, Germany; Zeebrugge, Belgium; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; and Le Havre, France, until April 2023. Departure dates have yet to be revealed but Preziosa
will arrive in Southampton on October 3 and MSC said its sailings would be available to book “later this month”. MSC has also added four departures to MSC
Virtuosa’s upcoming UK summer season. The extra sailings include a Mediterranean sailing; an itinerary visiting Portugal and Spain; a Canary Islands cruise; and a repositioning voyage to Genoa. Next winter, Grandiosa, Virtuosa and Lirica will be
based in the Mediterranean. Virtuosa will offer sailings from Genoa, calling into La Spezia and Naples, both Italy; Palma and Barcelona, both Spain; and Marseille, France.
Avalon late-booking offers include £840 off Budapest-Vienna cruise
Avalon Waterways has released a range of late-booking offers on three, five, seven and 14-night cruises booked within the next three months. Prices for a four-day sailing departing on April 29 from Budapest to Vienna now start at £429, down from £1,275. The line also has a free flights offer on 2022 departures on the Rhine and Danube until February 28.

Europa and MSC Seascape, in December. Prior to its first sailing, World Europa will be moored
in Doha to provide accommodation for football fans attending the World Cup in Qatar. The ship’s maiden trip will be a mini-cruise departing on December 20 before a regular schedule of seven-night cruises. Evo-class vessel Seascape will offer two seven-night
Caribbean itineraries from Miami from December 11. The line has extended its 2022 Arabian Gulf season
by three months. MSC Bellissima will move from Jeddah and take over from Virtuosa, currently based in the United Arab Emirates, in April. The seven-night Emirates sailing on Bellissima,
departing Dubai on April 2, leads in at £519.

Amadeus launches classical music-themed cruise on the Rhine
Amadeus River Cruises has released an eight-day classical music-themed cruise on the Rhine. The Amsterdam-Basel cruise on Amadeus Cara includes private concerts in Strasbourg, Amsterdam and Bonn. The cruise departs on October 18, with prices leading in at £1,686 for bookings made by February 28.
