Prestige highlights stopovers in 2024 Australia/NZ range

Juliet Dennis

Prestige Travel has released a second-edition 2024 Discover Australia & New Zealand brochure including a new section highlighting stopover extensions. Jenny Taylor Page, brand

ambassador for the programme, said: “The stopover extension features some of the many options available, as well as the Pacific islands of Fiji and the Cook Islands, both of which make a fantastic side trip to Australia and New Zealand.” Page, who was promoted to the

role from sales executive in August, added: “We have seen an increase in multi-centre itineraries and wanted to highlight the bespoke service that we offer.” Other changes to the

brochure aim to fulfil increased post-pandemic demand for unique experiences, she said. As a result, the Wintjiri Wiru

light show, which is held in the evenings at Uluru, has been added.

Sydney In New Zealand, Stewart

Island is also new, alongside several tours and hotels. The 17-night Australian East

Coast Discovery with Uluru Visit itinerary costs from £4,595, including flights. It features Sydney, the Wintjiri Wiru After Dark tour, Cairns, Brisbane and a three-night Singapore stopover. Trade relationship manager

Joe Lavers said the operator’s short-haul and Closer to Home brochures will have similar updates and be produced in time for peaks. “Expansion plans go beyond

the brochures and include a new website and destination to be launched in March, more educationals, agent incentives and continued support for those agents that support us,” he said. Last year Prestige Travel ran

three fam trips and next year aims to offer six or more, including to Europe and Canada, as well as Australia for the first time. prestigetravel.co.uk

n Strong low-cost growth at BHX

If the summer was all about long-haul growth at BHX – Emirates, Saudia and Qatar Airways – then autumn has been all about low-cost. EasyJet announced it is bringing forward the opening

of its three-aircraft base at BHX from the end of March to the middle of March 2024. They can’t wait. Nor can we. Oh, and they’re also adding lots more routes, including Barcelona, Berlin and Sharm el-Sheikh. Ryanair confirmed it will add a seventh aircraft to its

BHX-based fleet next year, along with a plethora of new destinations, including Agadir, Tirana and Paphos. Pegasus, the Turkish low-cost carrier, starts thrice-

weekly services to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport this month and Spice Jet, the Indian low-cost airline, is poised to start three flights a week to Amritsar very soon. Meanwhile, easyJet holidays continues to market

aggressively across our region, competing with Tui and Jet2 (which will base its 15th aircraft at BHX next year). All this is good news for customers: greater choice at affordable prices. More good news coming. Stay tuned.
