Tui: Price parity would benefit all

Story: Agents call on Tui to offer full parity to develop relationships Absolutely agree. They should have one commission level for all agencies, to allow all agents to use the low deposit scheme and just support everyone equally. Surely they’d sell more? I know many agents switch-sell from Tui because they can’t compete. Lucy Clarke Tui will never offer price parity. And why would they when so many other operators don’t either? Yet they have a great product, which I’m sure agents could be very good at selling for them if they stuck to the 5% online discount that they offer for summer 2021 across all seasons. Greig Ewins

Wendy Wu Tours hosted agents on three webinars last week to keep them up to date with the operator’s latest product developments while in lockdown. The sessions focused on Vietnam, central Asia and Latin America. One agent won a four-night cruise on the operator’s river cruise ship Victoria Mekong.

The best of your letters, comments and social media this week In memory: Thanks for donations for Rachel Dawson

I am writing to say a massive thank you to everyone in the travel industry who kindly donated to Cancer Research UK in memory of my wife Rachel Dawson, who owned Millhouses Travel Worldchoice in Sheffield. Rachel sadly passed away after losing her battle with cancer on June 6 last year. The family received great comfort from the many kind words and messages of support

from travel colleagues from around the country. A fantastic amount of £3,017 was kindly donated. And an additional £1,245 was donated to Cancer Research UK from the many well-wishers who attended the funeral service. A special thank you to Steve Riley of Ashley Adams Travel who set up the

JustGiving page in Rachel’s memory. Steve Dawson
