The highest tides in the world are just the start when it comes to natural phenomena in New Brunswick

Along the east coast of Canada lies a hidden gem full of big adventures. Home to unspoiled coastlines, vast national parks and scenic drives, New Brunswick is awash with natural beauty.

The jewel in its crown is the Bay of Fundy, which boasts 16-metre-high tides – the highest in the world. This tidal marvel is best experienced from the Hopewell Rocks: visitors can walk along the seabed and get up close to the jagged cliffs when the waters recede, or view the cliff faces from a new perspective in a kayak when the tide is at its highest.

Visitors who hit the road will be greeted with stunning views of the Fundy Coastal Drive – and can look out for some of the rarest species of whales along the way! Elsewhere, the east coast’s Acadian Coastal Drive is home to a sand dune thriving with wildlife, including migratory birds. Stretching for seven miles, the dune is well worth a visit.

The awe-inspiring nature doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. The Kouchibouguac National Park on the east coast is a Dark Sky Preserve, where visitors can enjoy unparalleled views of the Milky Way – a stunning way to end a perfect day.

36 sailings in Portugal The six-night Ypres and

Flanders Fields round-trip cruise from Amsterdam starts at £1,536. Itineraries include flights,

meals, drinks, Wi-Fi, some sightseeing tours and insurance. travel.saga.co.uk
