A host of energy smart machines and new finance packages mean there’s no excuse not to buy green, says Tim Bender, sales director at Hobart Warewashing UK

We know first- hand the many challenges that food busi- nesses face, whether it’s staff shortages, rents, energy costs, or otherwise, yet operating sus- tainably can no longer be just an afterthought for caterers, it’s now the responsibility of us all. The new glass and dishwasher models benefit from four key innovations: WashSmart lets operators monitor the integral functionality of the new undercounter machines at the touch of a button, making it simpler to monitor levels of detergent and water in real time and determine overall oper- ating costs. Operators can also download an instant hygiene report, request a quote, order necessary consumables and receive error reports for any machine breakdowns. A new TOP-DRY drying function helps to eradicate the laborious and time-consuming hand-drying process by producing perfectly dry ware straight from the dishwasher. Once the washing process is complete, the humid air is converted using a hydro-thermal energy storage system and then re-introduced into the wash chamber as hot drying air.
