rbella introduced a number of new products and technology solutions to make it easier
to write commercial business. Even in a hyper- competitive market, we were able to increase voluntary premium and achieved a strong combined ratio of 101.1% and a loss ratio of 48.5%.
As cyber criminals continue to target small and midsized businesses, the threat of data breach and cyber theft has never been higher. In response to this alarming trend, we introduced Arbella CYBERPro, which offers first- and third-party coverage, expert breach response, and preventive best practices support.
We launched Arbella’s new Easy App, which enables our agents to quickly quote, bind, and purchase non-fleet auto policies. Tis technology significantly reduces turnaround time, improves the customer experience, and plays a key role in growing our commercial auto book.
Connecticut continues to be a success story for us; we’ve averaged 9.7% annual growth there over the past five years. We added a new team manager and skilled underwriters who made a significant contribution to our new business growth.
Our underwriting staff meets daily to review all submissions and strategically target profitable accounts. Tis enables us to respond quickly to incoming applications so we can secure the best new business opportunities.
Our focus in 2018 will be to add more agency partners, target profitable market segments in Connecticut, and deliver technology solutions to improve the customer experience.
“My condo client recently experienced a devastating total loss and Arbella was so empathetic—every decision they made was in the best interest of the insured. It’s a level of service that you wouldn’t get from a national carrier. I’m now writing as many clients as possible with Arbella.”
