SIMONSWERK exhibits at ARCHITECT@WORK
Hinge manufacturer SIMONSWERK will be exhibiting at the ARCHITECT@WORK exhibition held at the Truman Brewery on 20-21 March. SIMONSWERK will be showcasing the latest developments to its comprehensive hinge portfolio. The focus of the exhibition will be the new self-closing BILOBA hinge systems for single swing or double-action glass doors. The screw-on hinge system has an automatic self closing function thanks to integrated hydraulic damping. It is internationally patented and tested to over one million opening cycles. The adjustable closing speed enables ideal adaptability to user needs. Also on display will be the new BW 1 mounting bracket. In harmonious interaction with the TECTUS TE 640 3D A8 and TE 626 3D A8 for unrebated commercial and functional doors, this detail allows for cladding for up to 20 mm on both sides. The new concept gives the designer more scope when integrating the door element into the overall interior design concept.

Forbo Flooring Systems is excited to launch its brand new Forbo Awards, replacing its previous Forbo Escapes competition. This new iteration of Forbo’s industry- renowned architectural design competition includes three categories, with a special focus on sustainability, and a bumper prize package for the lucky winning practices. Since 2012, Forbo has ran a competition to recognise the crème de la crème of commercial projects utilising Forbo’s fl ooring solutions. However, 2024 sees Forbo launch a new Awards style competition to recognise a wider variety of projects from the architectural, interior design and fl ooring industry.

The Steel Window Association, and members, are thrilled to announce the launch of the very fi rst Steel Window Association Awards. The awards have been created to highlight impressive projects as well as detailing the experience and knowledge that goes into creating beautiful steel windows and doors. Members have two categories to choose from –
Best Domestic Project and Best Commercial Project – and have been provided with a list of criteria and a specifi cation form. Winners will be announced on the 7th June at the association’s AGM in London.
