Evonik names new Customer Relations Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa


Evonik’s Oil Additives business has with effect from 1 March 2016, Thilo Krapfl will take over the role of Customer Relations Director - Europe, Middle East and Africa.


From his base in Darmstadt, Germany, Thilo Krapfl will lead the direct sales activities in the region, as well as technical service and OEM relations. He will also be responsible for identifying the market’s needs and requirements and implementing measures to drive growth in the region.


Thilo Krapfl holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University Erlangen, Germany. He began his career with Evonik in 2004 when he joined the Degussa Engineering Department in Hanau, working on several large scale projects. Between 2006 and 2008, Thilo was an integral member of the


team responsible for construction and start-up of Oil Additives’ Singapore plant, now its largest plant worldwide. He then became a technical service manager in Darmstadt, supporting several key accounts.


In 2011, Krapfl returned to Singapore as plant manager of the Singapore plant, where he provided oversight to the successful expansion of the plant, resulting in a doubling of capacity. Last year, he returned to Darmstadt to assume the role of global sales process manager.

Trevor Russell appointed as new Chief Executive Officer of Infineum


Infineum International Limited recently announced that Trevor Russell was appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Xavier le Mintier who will step down on 30 June 2016 after more than four years in the role and after having completed the mandate agreed by the Infineum Board of Directors.


Mr. Russell has been a member of the Infineum senior leadership team since the organisation formed in 1999 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President, Sales and Supply.


Matt Aguiar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Infineum International Limited, commented, “I am delighted that Trevor has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of

Ari Palmroos appointed HSE Director at Neste


Ari Palmroos (born 1962, M.Sc.Eng, MBA) has been appointed the HSE Director at Neste. The main tasks of the HSE organisation is to develop Neste’s safety culture as well as to promote safe behaviour and awareness. Ari will be heading the HSE organisation of 35 people. He will start working at Neste in the beginning of September 2016 at the latest.


“We are extremely happy to welcome Ari in our safety team. Safe operations are the number one concern of Neste not only for the well-being of our personnel but also due to the nature of our operations. According to our safety vision, all accidents can be prevented. Our target is to take safety to a new level within


the company,” says Hannele Jakosuo-Jansson, SVP, Human Resources and Safety. Prior to his move to Neste, Ari worked as the OHS Director at UPM-Kymmene. He also has many years of experience in safety and line management duties at Fortum, Borealis and Neste.

RS Clare appoint new Managing Director


R S Clare has appointed a new Managing Director to further develop the long established business.


PAUL VANN age 54, comes from Nynas AB, the $2 billion turnover Swedish supplier of naphthenic base oils and derivatives where he has been Sales Director Global Accounts.


Ian Meadows Executive Chairman said: “Paul comes to us to take up the baton which I have held for 35 years, to further grow our profitable private business. The wealth of experience he has gained in export markets will be invaluable since over
