Your optimism and positivity is well documented, but it’s not always easy given global geopolitics and inequality. What action (s) can each of us take to make a difference?
Some days I have to dig deep to find that optimism and positivity and it has to be steeled with some reality checks. For instance, I don’t think we can blindly continue as we are with unabated levels of consumption and hope with a blind faith that some unforeseen magical technology is going to get us out of this dilemma. We also need to get focused.
But I do hold a sense that we can rise to this challenge, it will be very tough to achieve but the other options are a one-way route to disaster and sadly a route we’ve been going down for too long.
I’m still staggered by how few people have ever calculated t heir carbon fo otprint. That basic level of knowledge is essential to start making choices about how we live and how to make a difference.
Voting is essential - not voting is still voting.
And try and make a difference, anything is better than nothing.
Get out into the natural environment, feel it, savour it and care for it and encourage others to do the same.
