Next, the awards. This year’s President’s Award, sponsored by Brenntag, went to Tony Jones of Lubrizol, for his services as Secretary of the BLF Metalworking Fluids Product Stewardship Group. BLF MWF-PS Group is the most active committee within the BLF. Bert Boomkamp the Group’s current Chairman accepted the award on Tony’s behalf, as Tony was not present.


The annual competition for the Brett Golf Cup was this year won by James Evans of Morris Lubricants. The award was accepted by Andrew Goddard of Morris Lubricants on James’ behalf.


This year two candidates were successful in winning The BLF Young Employee of the Year Award. BLF President, David Neadle presented crystal trophies and cheques to Mel and Ben Tomblin, who are brother and sister, both from Thames Lubricants Ltd.


The final award went to Trevor Padget, Midland Branch Chairman. Trevor was presented with a Special Award of Council for his services at Midlands Branch and to the BLF.


This year’s guest speaker Adrian Walsh, thoroughly entertained members and guests, with typical Northern Ireland humour and banter.
