ANNUAL DINNER ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DINNER
The BLF Annual Dinner was once again held at the London Hilton on Park Lane, on Thursday, 11th November 2004 and may possibly be the last one under the BLF banner. The reason why this may be the last dinner is because the BLF intend, subject to a successful vote at the forthcoming BLF EGM, to be held on Thursday 9th December at Loughborough, to amalgamate with the UK Delegation to UEIL. The two organisations have worked jointly together on this venture. Together they intend to form a new organisation that will operate under a new name, the United Kingdom Lubricants Association.
I am sure someone will know better, but I am told that the first London Lubricants Dinner was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in 1935, long may they continue.

The new name of the amalgamated organisation?
The EGM will decide.
This year’s dinner was attended by the usual mix of UK and International BLF members and their guests, plus this year we welcomed increased numbers of the Federation’s special guests from trade associations and Government, including guests from the UK, continental Europe, USA and Japan.
At this time of change BLF President, David Neadle gave a special word of thanks to all the BLF members who had, over the years, volunteered and served, giving their valuable time and effort to work on industry business on behalf of the members of the Federation. David explained the reasons behind the need for change to UKLA and urged Members to vote in favour at the forthcoming EGM. He went on to add that Members would really benefit from having one strong UK lubricants industry trade association that was active in Europe through UEIL.
