author in 2020, charting sixth in the overall TCM chart. The much- awaited memoir by the US’ first Black president was released in November, during lockdown—and therefore its Nielsen sales figures are patchy. But publisher Penguin Random House confirmed its first- week sales stood at more than 80,000 copies in hardback. Bernardine Evaristo’s Booker- winning title Girl, Woman, Other scored seventh place in the TCM. up the charts, after reading lists were shared over social media. Girl, Woman, Other hit the Mass- Market Fiction number one for the first time, as Reni Eddo-Lodge’s 2018-published paperback Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race became the first title by a Black British author to go to the Official UK Top 50 number one spot in the Nielsen BookScan era. For 2020, Eddo-Lodge’s title ranked 17th, 434 places above its 2019 ranking. Akala’s Natives,
