SEASON 2, EPISODE 4 Ocean Bathrooms and Charlie Smallbone A couple of really insightful, honest
and fascinating retailers in this episode but both have very different stories. Joe Muhl is from Ocean Bathrooms – a family business based in Bridport in Dorset but also with a showroom in central London and a brand new studio in Poole. How did he plan that opening through lockdown? And then we have
a man who needs no
introduction and that’s Charlie Small- bone. His experience of the premium sector, as well as managing the ups and downs of the market, is huge and, of course, he’s now running his own Ledbury Studio in Notting Hill – how has he fared in 2020?
SEASON 2, EPISODE 7 Clive
SEASON 2, EPISODE 5 How to build a
sustainable business Believe it or not there is a much
bigger long-term issue even than coronavirus to talk about and that’s sustainability and the environment. In this episode, we’ve got a very special interview with someone really pioneering how suppliers and manufacturers can operate a sustainable business and still make a profi t. That’s Richard Hagan of Crystal Doors and he is on a really insightful, honest and fascinating quest. How do you get started? Is it expensive? How long until it pays for itself? How do you get your staff on board? Richard talks us through his journey and experience...
Christian and The Kitchen Store We talk to David
Dare (pictured left), the owner of ultra-premium kitchen brand Clive Christian Furniture. He only bought the company a year ago, so how has lockdown affected his plans, what has happened to the ultra-luxury market and what constitutes value for money if money is no object? Then we talk to retailer Alan Margett of The Kitchen Store about his decision to keep his showrooms closed through the second lockdown despite, at the time, permission to open. He felt that opening his four showrooms was not in the spirit of the lockdown and just didn’t feel right morally.

SEASON 2, EPISODE 6 To open or not…part deux
When the new national
lockdown began
there was, once again, huge confusion among KBB retailers over whether they were allowed to open or not. Back in May, KBB retail was classifi ed as ‘building supplies’ and showrooms were therefore permitted to open. Most did open, albeit by appointment only, and it kick-started a big surge in pent-up demand. So on the eve of national lockdown number two, we talked to some of the leading KBB retailers around the country. How did they feel about whether the same rules applied in the new lockdown? Had they decided to open their showrooms or not?
