Switlik Survival Products is celebrating its 100th year of business this year. A fourth-generation, family-owned company, Switlik manufactures safety and survival products for the military, aviation, and marine markets. A pioneer in the aviation market, Switlik partnered with record-setters like Amelia Earhart and Admiral Byrd, and helped outfit expeditions to Everest and the Gemini space program.

Over the years, Switlik aggressively pursued the development of new inflatable safety products including “anti-G” suits, anti- exposure suits, and advanced designs of life rafts and life vests. Today, Switlik is the supplier of U-Zip-It Anti-Exposure suits to the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crews. The same U-Zip-It and its variations are also available commercially.

Innovative product designs to the constant-wear life vest line include the ergonomic X-Back style, shifting weight off the neck. Switlik is also a leading manufacturer of airline-style life vests.

“Never left on a critical care transport without one on during my aeromedical days in the San Juan Islands! I wear PFDs over the water for ground operations every day, nothing ever compared to the comfort and versatility of my Switlik!” — Jeremy Talbot
