Product news Teal flocks to provide Covid support

Teal portable sinks are being used across the UK to fight against the spread of Covid-19 infection through regular hand washing with soap and water. Throughout the lockdown and tier-

controlled periods, Teal has supplied portable sinks to a large number of UK hospital sites from Scotland to Cornwall and sales enquiries have come in from North America and Europe. The sinks are standalone and can be placed

exactly where needed, totally independent of any plumbing that exists in the building or room. The Mediwash, one of the most popular sinks supplied, includes an automatic sensor that starts a pre-programmed hand wash cycle, supported by on-screen instructions. They are also easy to use as they are

activated by the sensor and only need a hand to pass in front of it. No taps are needed, and the warm water shuts off automatically after the cycle has completed.

Toucan cleaning products get top billing

A leading UK care home group has chosen to use Toucan cleaning solution to replace its usual daily cleaning chemicals across their entire portfolio. By carefully partnering the Toucan solution with specialist cleaning chemicals, the care provider will optimise safety and

impact on the environment. Toucan supplier Traffik said many clients

are concerned about spraying aggressive, synthetic chemicals in their homes, conscious of resident and staff safety and the efficacy of the products they are using. Two products that stand out in a sometimes-confusing market are Toucan ECA and AM Protector. Toucan ECA is a 100 per cent safe disinfectant for in- house use, providing infection prevention, while AM Protector is a long-lasting anti-bacterial and anti-virucide coating. For more information, to buy

Meltemi smartens up uniform website

Uniform supplier Meltemi has launched a redesigned website with improvements and additional functionality to provide a comprehensive, hassle-free experience for its customers. Key changes include a live chat feature with

agents available during opening hours to assist with any questions customers may have in relation to an existing or potential order. A filter functionality meanwhile will allow

customers to be able to filter product ranges by colour, size, fit, care and fabric for easier browsing. In addition, Meltemi has introduced a more sophisticated and simpler tool to select the style and type of embroidery to be added to uniforms. Available on each product page, the tool allows customers to choose the text,

embroidery colour, size of the embellishment and where it is to be featured on the garment. In addition, a size chart on each product page aims to help with any queries regarding the sizing of products. Visit the website at https://www.meltemi.co.uk.

The launch of what is claimed to be the UK’s first visual track and trace technology for care homes has been heralded as a game-changer in the fight against Covid-19. Digital care technology specialist ENS’s PinGo electronic badges are the first to offer real-time flashing image alerts and vibrations to staff, visitors and residents in care homes if they enter a ‘red zone’ of less than two metres from another person. If someone tests positive for Covid-19,

PinGo produces a ‘rapid test’ list - ranking those most at risk of possible infection – that enables care homes to send instant alert messages to listed staff and contact visitors. The tailor-made system is being used by a number of leading care home operators, including Dormy Care, which praised the technology in helping to reduce the spread and rate of infection of Covid-19. Dormy Care Communities chief executive

Helen Davies-Parsons said: “We are thrilled to be using the new PinGo technology, this takes infection control to another level and could be a real game-changer

Shieldplus takes global fight to Covid

An innovative antimicrobial cleaning system developed by technical fabrics manufacturer Panaz has been proven effective against 99.99 per cent of enveloped viruses, bacterial and fungal microbes including coronavirus, MRSA, norovirus and E.Coli. The underlying technology has been

bottled for use as a multi-surface spray - Shieldplus Protect - and as a laundry additive - Shieldplus Laundry. Uniquely, Shieldplus provides long lasting

antimicrobial protection - independently tested as 99.99 per cent effective after 30 days - through forming an invisible molecular bond with the treated surface. The technology works through attracting

negatively charged microorganisms onto the positively charged molecular coating of Shieldplus. The cell wall is pierced and electrocuted, killing the microbe or virus immediately. The product is available in a

range of formats and sizes, including 750ml trigger spray bottles and five-litre bulk cans.
