This infrared, internet-based solution achieves rapid identification of microorganisms directly from culture plates. Currently MAAP-IR can identify commonly isolated clinical bacteria and yeasts, including difficult to distinguish pathogens, in under five minutes, with the precise identification technology helping to select appropriate antibiotics and avoid the need for Gram staining. With low capital costs, MAAP-IR is able to benefit smaller laboratories and improve patient care in remote areas, expanding diagnostic accessibility and reducing the need for sample transport. Clinically validated, MAAP-IR achieves a 99% success rate for Gram identification, 90% for genus, and 88% for species-level identification with minimal misidentification.
