BioConnections The eazyplex test system represents a significant advancement in infectious sciences, offering rapid and precise differential diagnosis of critical infectious pathogens. Validated by numerous publications and widely adopted in clinical laboratories throughout the UK and Europe, this state-of-the-art technology integrates isothermal amplification to deliver reliable results. Recent research highlights the
system’s versatility, particularly in combining assays for different pathogens, such as the Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKp) associated virulence genes and beta-lactamase detection. Such capabilities enhance its utility in addressing complex infectious diseases. The eazyplex system is suited for single-test and small-volume testing, with just five-minutes hands-on time. The system is closed to minimise contamination and the compact processor allows for near-patient testing using ready-to-use reagents. This, combined with a significant reduction in TAT (results in less than 30 minutes), enables clinicians to make informed decisions based on clinical symptoms and diagnostic results, optimising care and treatment pathways. Targeting a wide array of infectious diseases, including – ARM genes, Candida auris, Clostridioides difficile, EHECs, MRSA – PVL toxin, and sepsis- causing pathogens, the eazyplex test operates directly from various sample materials, eliminating the need for DNA/ RNA extraction. Culture Collections (UKHSA) The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is the custodian of four unique collections of expertly preserved, authenticated cell lines, bacteria, viruses, and fungi of known provenance. The collections are developed, managed, and maintained by highly trained, dedicated staff working in accordance with internationally recognised quality standards including certification to ISO 9001:2015. Scientists across the world use Culture Collections’ cell lines and microbial strains as controls for clinical diagnostic and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, food, water and environmental microbiology testing, quality control testing, validation studies, and in-disease research and drug discovery. All bacterial and fungal strains are available in a freeze-dried format, in fused-glass ampoules.
