UK manufacturer Haemoband Surgical – who specialises in the development and supply of colorectal medical devices – will be showcasing their innovative range of band ligation and proctology products. The company’s primary device, the Haemoband- Plus, is the first multi-action, pre-loaded disposable ligator for the treatment of internal haemorrhoids. It was developed by consultant surgeon and company medical director, Essam Ghareeb. The technology has been designed to allow for more accurate application, to reduce treatment times, and all from a single-handed device. At Medica 2022, Haemoband Surgical will also be launching their new HB-SleeveLUX Proctoscope, a single use, self-illuminating and fully disposable proctoscope.


Supporting international innovators, digital health and social care agency Healthcare Innovation Consortium (HIC), will be launching their exciting, new health-focused International Accelerator Programme (IAP), which will be opened for application in October 2022 to support the growth of international technology innovators in the UK. The 12-month structured programme will begin in March 2023 and will take IAP innovators on a journey that includes extensive training and mentoring, a tailored route to the UK market and positioning IAP innovators products and services to succeed.


UK manufacturer JEB Technologies is a leading specialist product development company for the medical device industry who will be showcasing a novel device called CamPROBE (Cambridge Prostate Biopsy Device), a new development that is used to facilitate the acquisition of prostate biopsy tissue through the transperineal route, under local anaesthetic. The device has been developed as a collaborative effort between JEB Technologies, the University of Cambridge and the research and development team at Cambridge University Hospitals and comprises of a stainless- steel cannula and an integrated coaxial introducer needle. The introducer needle provides simultaneous local anaesthetic delivery as the device is advanced through the transperineal route, while the coaxial cannula provides access to the prostate through which the biopsies are taken using an appropriate 18-gauge biopsy needle. CamPROBE only needs a two-body entry puncture point and aims to provide a simple
