Doros Polydorou Doros is the Managing Director of STERIS Instrument Processing, responsible for the delivery of decontamination services from a network of over 35 sterile services facilities across EMEA. Prior to his current role, Doros held a number of senior


operations roles within the information technology sector before commencing his career in decontamination at Northwick Park Hospital, in London in 2008 and has since worked for Synergy Health, then STERIS. Doros is passionate about patient care outcomes, resulting


from the quality of services provided to STERIS’ Customers, with a clear focus on development and investment in people

and innovation/emerging technology in the decontamination sector.


In addition, Doros has embedded a sustainability and social


value business ethos, including a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality in line with the NHS Green Plan and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Doros is both an active member of the Institute of


Decontamination Sciences, the Central Sterilising Club and various Circular Economy and sustainability working groups. Presentation title: TBC


Paul J Caesar PENTAX Medical Head of Hygiene, Infection Control and Reprocessing EMEA Paul J Caesar has more than 25 years’ experience in hygiene and infection control, especially in medical devices and reprocessing flexible endoscopes. He has published articles on endoscope reprocessing, hand hygiene and other topics within infection control, and has presented on a variety of related issues at many international conferences. He has also developed teaching programmes on hygiene and infection control, reprocessing endoscopes and cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of medical devices. From 2015 – 2019 he was chair of a Dutch Expert Group for reprocessing flexible endoscopes. In 2020, he started working as reprocessing and infection control leader EMEA at Pentax Medical Europe. Presentation title: a medical device journey from idea to the decontamination department

Gillian Cairns Gillian is currently Associate Global Head of the Microbiology Team, after joining BSI in 2014 as a Microbiologist. The UK team conducts many audits of hospitals and reprocessing service providers under UKCA/MDD and ISO 13485. Prior to this I was in research in medical microbiology at Leeds and Exeter Universities, before moving to a large medical device manufacturer.
