Delivering innovation and education

Getinge’s new President for the UK and Ireland, Amy Rothwell, speaks to CSJ about the exciting developments taking place in the UK to support the healthcare sector with education and innovation, with the aim of helping healthcare professionals to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.

Earlier this year, Getinge opened its new, state-of- the-art UK headquarters, bringing together the MedTech company’s chemistry and instrument decontamination business in the vibrant industrial and logistics park, St. Modwen Park Derby. The new site features Getinge’s Global Centre of Excellence for Chemistry – a department focused on chemistry and instrument disinfection which is led by a dedicated research and development team. Complete with microbiologists and full-time chemists, the centre is dedicated to creating new products and solutions for the healthcare industry. A new training academy also forms part

of the headquarters, allowing the company to supplement the current expertise of its specialist workforce with the brightest young talent available in the region. A dedicated showroom also allows Getinge to showcase the wide variety of products across its portfolio – from operating tables and ventilators through to the decontamination products it supplies

contribute every day to saving lives. At Getinge our focus is to be a great place to work for all our employees and the new building in Derby represents a fantastic new facility which aims to provide world-class manufacturing and distribution of healthcare products to the wider Getinge organisation, and subsequently customers and patients all around the world,” Rothwell comments. The new facility will enable Getinge personnel

globally across the medical industry. Leading the operation is Amy Rothwell – Getinge’s new President for the UK and Ireland – who has over 20 years’ experience within the industry. Previously the General Manager Healthcare at Getinge UKI, she brings with her a bold vision to be “the partner of choice to all UK & Irish customers”. “I am delighted to be working for an

organisation where our employees are so passionate about what they do and how they

to maximise their performance potential, provide solutions to future technical challenges and maintain the highest product quality for its customers. “Our customers are at the centre of

everything we do at Getinge; hence, through technology development and leading educational programmes at our Derby facility we are actively delivering on our mission of helping customers save more lives with our healthcare products,” Rothwell comments. She explains that the new site is purpose built

to create the right environment for technical, service and sales teams to collaborate, support the customer and help solve future needs. “The facility has the ability to innovate and

create new products and value for all healthcare customers, who are then able to improve patient experience and care – improving patient outcomes overall. It also allows room for future growth within the R&D pipeline, enabling Getinge to continue to deliver for its customers – both now and in the future,” says Rothwell.

The Experience Centre The Experience Centre is a key component of Getinge’s new operations and was established as Getinge’s centre of excellence for education and technology within the UK and Ireland. The goal for the Experience Centre is for customers
