It gives me great pleasure to introduce this edition of the IHEEM Handbook once again, produced for our individual and affiliate members, as well as those working within the healthcare engineering and efm sector. The Handbook has become an integral part of the suite of documents, alongside our Annual Report and list of Business Priorities that we publish each year to keep our members up to date with the work that the Institute is undertaking to support them. They also keep members informed on delivery against our 5 Year Business Plan, which is all achieved alongside the provision of the day-to-day support to our members, as well as meeting the corporate and operational needs of our many Committees, Branches, and Platforms. Our membership continues to grow,


particularly for craftspeople, technicians, and apprentices, and we are processing more enquiries and applications than ever before. This is a clear reflection that the benefits of IHEEM membership are well recognised, and


that we are providing the right service and support to people at all stages in their careers. Our Company Affiliate membership continues to rise, which means that more companies and organisations who provide goods and


vital services to our sector are taking advantage of IHEEM’s offer, which includes entry into this popular guide. Many of our affiliates take part in our national and regional conferences and events, and the Institute is grateful for their steadfast support and sponsorship which helps make our annual Key Events and Networking Programme such a success. The images on the cover of this Handbook provide a small snapshot of some of our many recent activities and achievements. I look forward to meeting many of you in person at one of our events this year, including our flagship Healthcare Estates Conference and Exhibition, which saw record levels of attendance last year. We continue to work to establish new


partnerships to give our members more benefits. Working closely with our growing community of IHEEM Knowledge Partners means that our members now have access to over 270 unique courses available across a varied number of engineering disciplines. These can be booked via our website, and details are regularly featured in the new dedicated Training and Development section of HEJ. Everyone involved in IHEEM takes pride in


our collective achievements, and I will never tire of thanking everyone who supports us. This includes our dedicated Council and Committee members, and all the volunteers who give their time and
