‘Turning point’ saw new member form own consultancy
Founder and director of Industrial Technical Solutions, Matthew Schofield, who founded the technical consultancy in 2021, has joined IHEEM as a Member. He explained: “I have a background
in process/safety engineering, and over 30 years’ experience with steam/ pressure systems – ranging from roles in operations, engineering, and management, and – more recently – service-providers. 2021 saw a turning point where I decided it was time to support the industry and provide a professional independent approach to raising standards around process engineering standards. “Throughout my career I have worked in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and energy from waste sectors directly, and supported many other sectors – including hospitals. I have developed a holistic approach to process operations, engineering, and maintenance, from a challenging and varied career. This wealth of experience is now being shared with

clients as an independent engineering consultant.” He continued: “Specialising
predominantly in steam generation and distribution, I have supported a number of NHS clients with technical boilerhouse risk assessments, optimisation, compliance, and training, as well as supporting Authorising Engineer duties around pressure systems. Being completely independent, and with supporting credentials/qualifications in process safety, clients can be assured of unbiased professional audits, findings, and solutions, to aid in delivering compliance and operational excellence. I am looking forward to supporting IHEEM and fellow Institute members to create a safer, more efficient, and compliant, environment for all.”
