‘Tailored’ hire and servicing of HVAC solutions offered
At the forefront of infection prevention and control
Recognising that building safe hospitals ‘relies on the critical intersection between engineering, the built environment, and infection control’, the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) has joined IHEEM as a Company Affiliate.
Cross Rental Services (formerly All Seasons Hire), which has recently joined IHEEM as a Company Affiliate member, is a specialist provider of heating, cooling, and air quality solutions, that offers ‘tailored hire and service solutions’ across the UK and Ireland. With dedicated teams and a network of depots, it provides nationwide support across all temperature-sensitive healthcare environments. The company said: “Our expertise includes temporary boiler, chiller, air-conditioning, and air quality solutions for short- and long-term hire. We help NHS Trusts manage planned maintenance, emergency breakdowns, and infrastructure upgrades, while delivering energy-efficient, sustainable solutions. As part of the Cross Group, we leverage our extensive experience to deliver fast, effective, and reliable services. “We supply healthcare facilities from our specialist hire fleet – which includes both standard and custom-specified and built boilers, chillers, portable heaters, air-conditioning units, and air
purification systems. Our services ensure that critical environments such as operating theatres, laboratories, scanner facilities, and wards, as well as other buildings across the estate, maintain the temperature, hot water supply, and air quality levels, required. “During risk assessment, we can support a Trust’s Business Continuity Programme, while by drawing up official Contingency Plans, we ensure that the full technical specification is made and identified, and deliver the required enabling works for a fast response when emergency mobilisation is required.”
“IHEEM membership provides a valuable platform for us to engage with Estates professionals, sharing our expertise in technical hire solutions, energy-efficient innovations, and long-term healthcare infrastructure planning. We are keen to assist with custom product development, and committed to supporting the healthcare sector with reliable, sustainable, and responsive solutions by continuing to add to the close long-term relationships we enjoy.”

The Society says the affiliation reflects its commitment to deeper collaboration with estates and engineering professionals, whose roles it believes are ‘essential in designing, maintaining, and managing, safe healthcare environments’. By joining IHEEM, HIS aims to foster cross-disciplinary learning, and encourage shared solutions to complex challenges such as ventilation, water safety, and safe hospital design.
The Healthcare Infection Society is a membership organisation ‘at the forefront of infection prevention and control (IPC) in healthcare settings’. HIS supports professionals with evidence- based guidance, training,
and funding for research, to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) and improve patient safety.
The Society said: “We
invite IHEEM members to attend the HIS Annual Conference, HISCON 2025, taking place from 17–18 June at Goodenough College in London. This year’s conference theme centres on the future of IPC in healthcare, with an exciting programme that bridges clinical, scientific, and built environment expertise. The topic for day one is ‘Putting patients front and centre – in the built environment’, with a programme focused entirely on occupant safety, and with Dame Judith Hackitt as the keynote speaker. Her insights will be invaluable for those working at the interface of healthcare construction, design, and infection control. Join us at HISCON 2025 to connect, learn, and help shape the future of safer healthcare environments – register at
