Chief Commercial Officer’s standpoint Jacqui Rock, Chief Commercial Officer, NHS England, will speak on the first day of the conference. In her role at NHS England, she leads the Commercial Directorate, and works alongside NHS procurement and estates professionals to drive improvement in delivery, efficiency, and value for money, and to support the spread of innovation across the health system. Previously a member of the NHS Test and Trace Executive Team, she was a driving force behind dynamic and rapid innovation and technology development in the supply chain. Three confirmed


speakers who will present on the theme of ‘Digital Technology & Innovation’ are Grant Mills, Professor of Healthcare Infrastructure Delivery and Bartlett Faculty Lead for Health at UCL – where he researches advanced healthcare infrastructure delivery models, interdisciplinary design, and project management; Rebecca Shipley OBE, Professor of Healthcare Engineering in UCL’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, who is a passionate advocate for healthcare engineering and the translation of scientific discoveries into practice, and James Blood, Digital Director at Stephen George + Partners (SGP), an expert on Building


IHEEM has announced more than a dozen keynote speakers for Healthcare Estates 2024, which takes place from 8-9 October at the Manchester Central convention complex. All visitors to the event can attend


the keynote sessions, which this year feature leaders from NHS England, top academics, heads of engineering-focused professional organisations, and experts from companies playing a leading role in supporting the UK’s estates and facilities management sector. Estates for NHS England, is a confirmed keynote speaker on the theme of Estates and Facilities Services. As part of her role, Fiona leads the NHS’s strategies, policies, and national programmes to develop the NHS Estates and Facilities Workforce, and her conference session will explore current and future challenges facing this 100,000-strong cohort. Also speaking within this conference stream will be Tina Johne, who leads the global Innovation & Digital Business Management for Healthcare at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. As Director and Head of

He will be joined on stage by Hilary Leevers, Chief Executive of EngineeringUK – a strategic leader with over 15 years’ experience of advocacy, research, funding, and activities to improve STEM education and outcomes across the UK, and Professor John Chudley, Chair of Engineering Council UK, the regulatory body for the UK engineering profession, which sets and maintains internationally recognised standards of professional competence and commitment.

Strategic health and social care planning Confirmed keynote speakers for the Strategic Health & Social Care Planning theme are Matt Ward, National Estates Strategy Lead for NHS England, a strategist with a wealth of experience in transformational change, partnership reconfigurations, and system wide-change initiatives; Michael Wood, Head of Health Economic Partnerships, NHS Confederation, who advises NHS leaders nationally and locally on policy, strategy, partnerships, and funding
