NEWS PreZero takes over KBG Group


Growing plastics recycler PreZero has agreed a deal which will give it control of KBG Group, a film recycler based in Germany. The agreement, which will give PreZero a 90% shareholding in KBG, is subject to approvals in Germany. The transaction value has not been revealed.


KBG employs approxi-


mately 180 people at facilities in Berlin, Hamburg, Hamm, Plettenberg and Werneuchen. It primarily reprocesses LDPE, LLDPE, PP and PS from commercial waste into high-quality granules, and uses the material to produce flexible packaging such as industrial

KBG, PreZero says it is adding important specialist knowledge in the field of film recycling and extrusion


to its existing capabilities. This is the latest invest- ment for PreZero, which is owned by the German supermarket giant Schwarz Group. In July, the company said it is planning to acquire


Ferrovial’s waste disposal and recycling business in Spain and Portugal, marking its entry into the Iberian region. Ferrovial Environ- mental Services business in Spain and Portugal employs around 16,000 people at 140 locations. PreZero currently has a
