NEWS Taiwanese machine shipped to US
Taiwanese injection mould- ing machinery manufacturer Chuan Lih Fa (CLF) has sold a 5000-tonne, two-platen machine to a US customer. The CLF-5000TPII machine – the largest the company has made – will help a “logistics and retail equipment supplier” produce heavy-duty plastic bulk bins.
CLF selected a two-plat- en clamping system for the client, eliminating the toggle linkage of conven- tional toggle machines – which reduced machine length by 15-20% compared units of equivalent tonnage.

In addition – knowing that mould changes on ultra- large machines can be constrained by facility height limits – CLF incorpo- rated a customised side- entry mould loading design. This clamping technology has previously enabled global buyers to use two-platen technology for
pallet production. CLF also built energy- saving into the project, equipping the machine with an electric-servo charging system and adding far-infra- red heating elements that reduce heat radiated into the plant. It says the system can cut power consumption
by 20-50% during volume production. “We didn’t build this machine to prove how big we can go, but to answer our client’s ambitious blueprint,” said Jenny Lin, marketing director at CLF. �
