It says RecyClass focuses on the recyclability of plastic packaging and the traceability of recycled plastic content, with assessments tailored to the complexities of plastic recycling. It is also strongly aligned with EU regulations and initiatives, such as the 2018 European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy, it added.


PU tie-up Hennecke has signed a deal with Chinese engi- neering group Yizumi to combine its polyurethane technology with injection moulding. The aim of the cooperation is to develop inte-


grated overmoulding technologies that combine high-quality surfaces with functional added value, says Hennecke. The project builds on findings from Yizumi’s


research on ReactPro technology, which enables the production of functional surfaces with a high degree of design freedom and resistance through


direct integration of PUR overmoulding in the tool. “The combination of injection moulding and PUR opens up new possibilities for functional and aesthetically sophisticated components,” said Thomas Wildt, CEO of Hennecke. The company says it has worked on PUR overmoulding for large-scale production for more than three decades. Increasingly, the focus is on industrial integration in a combined process step – for example, the production of scratch-resistant, high-gloss surfaces for the automotive industry or the combination of decorative and functional elements in consumer electronics or household appliances.


It says the cooperation with Yizumi is part of its


strategic orientation to develop new applications for PUR technologies with various system partners.
