for production of two-stage PET preforms. The PET-Series raises preform quality while increasing productivity, says the company. It is compatible with any major brand of PET-preform mould and available in a range of industry-standard configura- tions – and custom configurations on request.
Control response PCS introduced a number of hot runner products at NPE.
Its MCS hot runner control systems help to
accelerate temperature control precisely. Used to control all standard hot runner systems, as well as demanding applications, the system features fast control response and intuitive operation. Integrated interfaces optimise communication between the controller and injection moulding machine, ena- bling faster error detection, analysis and feedback. The standard controller range is up to 120 zones. In addition, Airtect plastic leak alarm systems
provide protection for hot runner systems or injection nozzles. Users receive instant feedback from the direct protected area in the form of an alarm or suspension of production, helping minimise damage and downtime.

Shadow elimination Hasco says that its Streamrunner Shadowfree technology helps to eliminate shadow formations in valve gate systems – and allow faster material colour changes.
In injection moulding, poorly flowing areas often occur in the hot runner due to roughness around the valve pin. This results in degradation reactions in the plastic melt and long colour transitions. Shadowfree, as a module element, eliminates the flow shadows in valve gate systems and enables a significantly faster colour change in the hot runner, says the company. A 3D-printed, floating system effectively splits the material flow into streamlined channels – to
evenly flush around the needle – and reunites them where the valve pin enters the melt channel. Testing has shown that the system provides a rapid transition from black to white material in 25 cycles, outperforming conventional valve gate systems by three to four times. As well as eliminating dead spots, having a gentle material flow and reducing pressure losses, Shadowfree offers a solution for processing heat-sensitive materials in combination with valve gate systems. In addition, at the recent Fakuma event, it
presented Mould Tag – which has an RFID tag – which enables the digitalisation of standard mould units and hot runner technology in injection moulding tools. Using the Hasco App, this can be read out, and all data directly displayed. While barcodes and QR codes can be easily copied, Mould Tag enables unambiguous identification with proof of origin, it says. The system offers an intelligent solution with
precise indoor localisation technology for the injec- tion moulding sector.
Higher precision Oerlikon HRSflow says its new T-Flow HRS control units – presented at NPE – increase the precision and reliability of temperature control in hot runner injection moulding. Modular in design, there are three models that are configurable to multiples of six zones. The company offers a self-explanatory user interface for comprehensive process control. A combination of integrated touchscreen, clear text display, intelligent navigation and guided operation makes for a user-friendly concept without the need for instruction or prior knowledge. An integrated LED strip in green, yellow and
