Simona grows first-half sales and profit in 2022
Simona of Germany has posted strong results in the first half of this year. The company reported
sales of €365m (US$365m) – an increase of nearly 41% on the same period last year. Profitability (EBIT) rose by around 6% to €29m (US$29m).
Simona saw growth in all
three regions in which it operates. In EMEA, sales expanded by 36% to €238m, driven in part by
“price-related effects”. In the Americas, revenue rose by more than 55% to €102m. Here, its Boltaron subsidiary – which makes plastic sheet for thermoforming – grew both sales and profits as the aerospace industry recov- ered. In Asia-Pacific, sales grew by 29% to reach nearly €25m. “We performed strongly against the backdrop of challenging economic and
geopolitical conditions,” said Matthias Schönberg, CEO of Simona.
Despite ongoing condi- tions such as the threat of recession and rising inflation, the company says it remains confident. “We are raising our
revenue forecast to €650- 670m and remain commit- ted to achieving group EBIT of 6-8%,” according to Schönberg.

According to Brueckner, the line will be “the first of its kind in the Western hemisphere”.
