Terichem Tervakoski was founded in 1921 as a producer of dielectric materials for capacitors – which it continues to this day. It is now a leading manufacturer of BOPP film for use in capacitors. From its beginnings in Finland, it has since moved its headquarters to Slovakia, where its main production plant is located. Its capacitor film finds its way into a number of industries, including power, automotive and other industry sectors.
Product lines:
The company’s capacitor film is tailored for several end-use industries. Its hazy, metallised film for power and smart grid applications has good endurance and ageing characteristics at demanding voltage stress levels and ambient temperatures. For automotive, ultra-thin film is designed to meet the needs of producers. For trains, metallised film helps in traction control. Here, the film decreases the amount of reactive power and withstands high electric and thermal stress loads. It also designs film for a range of other industry sectors.
Factory locations:
Tervakoski produces all its capacitor film at two locations: its main factory in Svit, Slovakia; and a second production unit in Lutsk, Ukraine. In Svit, production is focused on films for metallisation and impregnation, and are manufactured using a tenter frame machine and metallised with aluminium, zinc or alloy. The company recently took delivery of a new stretching line from Brueckner.
