Plasto Sac, founded in 1982, is a manufacturer of a range of plastic film packaging products, including food and consumables packaging, industrial packaging, security bags, and release and embossed films. It was originally created by the merger of two companies. In 2000, it acquired Mor Plastics and then, in 2016, Cargal Flexible Packaging.
Product lines: The company is a specialist in mono- and co-extruded polyolefin film. In food packaging, it supplies laminated films in a range of materials in thicknesses of 30-120 microns, and widths of 350-1500mm. Its Plasto-Fresh breathable films are used to make modified atmosphere packaging for ready-to-use bags. Other products include Plasto-Mesh wicket bags, and Plasto-Lid films for laminated lids.
Factory locations: The company originally had three manufacturing locations in Israel, but has since consolidated to two. Between them, the facilities house 25 co-extrusion lines and 10 inline and offline flexo presses printing up to eight colours – as well as three rotogravure presses. It makes films in widths of 35-275cm using multi-layer blown film extrusion. Plasto Sac also has subsidiaries in the UK, Spain and Mexico.
