Cascades, founded in 1964, is a specialist in plastic and paper packaging, as well as hygiene products such as tissues. Its plastic products include a variety of film and thermoformed trays in materials including polystyrene, PET and PE. The company celebrated its 60th anniversary this year.
Product lines:
The company offers a wide range of film products and thermoformed trays, with a particular focus on food packaging. It offers a variety of customised containers ranging from sealed containers for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) to ventilated solutions. It also offers many food-grade flexible films for packaging different products. The films are tailor-made for strength and tear, as well as other properties such as stretch, stiffness and sealing. Examples include milk pouches and bags, frozen food bags and ice bags.
Factory locations:
The company has more than 70 production facilities in North America – though many of these do not make plastic products. Some locations that are relevant to plastic packaging include a plant in Tacoma, Washington (Cascades Sonoco) as well as several factories in the Montreal area. These form part of the company’s ‘Specialty Products’ division.
