NPE 2024 | EXHIBITION PREVIEW

downstream pellet flushing unit can handle PET, HDPE and PS. “With this new machine setup, we present a

super-cleaning solution for post-consumer packag- ing made of polyolefins such as PP and PE or polystyrene at this year’s NPE”, said Paul Niedl, commercial head of Starlinger’s recycling technol- ogy division. The process ensures thorough decontamination

of post-consumer PP, PE or PS food packaging, to produce food-safe, odour-reduced regranulate that can be reused in the production of food-contact packaging instead of other, lower-grade types of packaging. “PP, PS and HDPE post-consumer packaging waste degrades during recycling, so the can only be used in lower-grade applications,” he added. “Now, the material is upgraded and suitable for high-grade applications including direct food-con- tact packaging.” www.starlinger.com

Sterling, part of ACS, will introduce several new chiller products at NPE. Its GPL small packaged chillers use R-513A

refrigerant, a ‘low GWP’ refrigerant that meets new environmental regulations. It is also classified as non-toxic and non-flammable, similar to the R-134A and R-410A it replaces. The units use an air-cooled system and have many features included as standard such as an audio/visual alarm. The new GPL chillers are available in 1-, 2- and 3-tonne cooling capacities. In addition, its new LHE central chiller offers two

refrigerant options – R-410A or R-454B. The LHE continues to offer the central chiller key benefits of high efficiency and modular expandability and is available in 20-60 tonne cooling sizes. Sterling will also introduce its TS-5 controller with a 5in touchscreen that allows for easy TCU control by machine operators. The controller is available with the TC130/TC131 series. The TS-5 includes USB data logging, standard ethernet, and many communications options. Plus, OPC UA /

Tosaf Fusion will use NPE to showcase its expertise in customised solutions for compounders and packaging producers. One area of experience is tie layers for polyeth- ylene (PE) applications in agriculture and packag- ing. The company is currently relocating its production to a larger facility in Israel’s Alon Tavor industrial area. Recently, it helped a manufacturer of corrugated sheet to overcome a problem of its product having inconsistent mechanical properties – and variations in quality and performance. Tosaf Fusion special- ists, working with the customer, adopted a custom- ised approach that included the use of special additives and optimisation of the production processes. This made it possible to avoid the inconsistencies and achieve consistent mechanical properties. “We understand the challenges our customers

are struggling with and have the knowledge to offer tailor-made solutions and to support and advise customers in practice,” said Meirav Fleischer, managing director of Tosaf Fusion. www.tosaf.com
