Kiefel will display a number of its thermoforming machines at NPE, including its new KMD 90.1 Premium machine. The KMD 90.1 Premium steel rule cutting machine has benefits such as its performance and process control, as well as a customised configura- tion with down-stacking and pick and place stack- ing. It allows efficient production of various types of thermoformed polymer packaging including trays, containers, lids and technical packaging. “This technology stands out due to its compat- ibility with standard tooling, benefiting customers by allowing existing tools – such as the Sencorp 2500 series – to be easily integrated through a simple adaptation process”, said Armin Dietrich, global director of the polymer packaging division at Kiefel.
In addition, the KMD 90.1 Premium offers a
faster, ergonomic, automated tool change in a unique tool block, taking only 1.5 hours. This facilitates film switching between production runs and increases machine utilization. Kiefel will also preview its latest tilting machine, the Speedformer KTR 6.2 for mass production of thermoformed polymer high-end cups. The machine presents a larger forming area and a faster forming time thanks to an improved cooling process. It offers over a 30% higher output of cups and
coffee capsules than its predecessor, depending on production parameters – such as the film material, amount of tool cavities and product characteristics. The new solution also gives customer the chance to produce taller cups.

Maag will display a variety of melt filtration solutions at NPE. The heart of its mechanical
recycling portfolio is melt filters from Ettlinger. The continuous-running ma- chines are designed for highly contaminated post-consum- er recycling. The ERF and Eco series can deliver throughputs of up to 10 tonnes/hour, depending on the application. At NPE, Maag will show an ERF 1000 – the largest Ettlinger continuous filter available.

In addition, its DFS-BF series of Duplex large-
area filtration systems are now backflush capable. This capability is due to the Divexpro valve. In addition, Maag will display new innovations in candle filter and vessel connections that eliminate pain points in these products. The company will also showcase its ContiNeo – a backflush screen changer that combines the advantages of a single-bolt screen changer with those of a continuous dual-piston screen changer with backflush functionality. It is aimed at extrusion processes that require low pressure fluctuations and fully automatic operation in a small space. For extrusion applications, the FSC, flat screen
changer, offers a compact design and optimised residence time.

MiVue will show new, expanded capabilities for its plant monitoring software for plastics processors at NPE. The software offers connectivity with a broad range of ancillary equipment, including loss in weight lenders, conveyors, granula- tors and chillers. Recently added features and modules will also be shown, including: job report module for lot tracking and quality accountability; material usage module to track manufacturing material assets and cost; and preven- tative maintenance module to
ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed unique for each machine type. Digital manufacturing connec-
