Lubrizol is investing in CPVC production in India
Lubrizol to invest $150m in India
Specialty chemical manufacturer Lubrizol plans to invest more than $150m in various projects in India, including breaking ground with local partner Grasim (part of the Aditya Birla Group) on the first phase of what it says will be the world’s largest CPVC production facility. The resin produced at the new 100,000 tonne plant at Vilayat will be used to manufacture products sold under Lubrizol’s FlowGuard Plus, Corzan and BlazeMaster brands. The company also plans to double its existing CPVC compound capacity at Dahej in Gujarat and to set up an
R&D and technology centre there. Lubrizol said the investment will
make it the only company in India with an end-to-end CPVC capability. “We are building on 50 years of success in India by adding new manufacturing, lab and R&D sites, supporting in-country innovation and adding jobs that capitalise on the great expanding workforce and business conditions in India, allowing us to serve needs not only in India but in surrounding countries,” said Rebecca Liebert, President & CEO of Lubrizol.
