EXTRUDER OF THE MONTH

Prinsco Head office:

CEO: Founded:

Ownership: Profile:

Willmar, Minnesota, USA Jamie Duininck 1975

Private

Prinsco was founded in 1975 as a manufacturer of cement pipe, but soon moved into HDPE plastic products – which it supplied to the local Midwestern agricultural market. It has since diversified, making products for the stormwater and – quite recently – residential markets, such as retail and DIY customers. All its products include a gold stripe along the length of the pipe.

Product lines:

The company’s main markets are agricultural, stormwater and residential – with some products being used universally. Its Goldflo dual-wall pipe, for instance, is for stormwater conveyance and management, but used more broadly. Goldflex is a flexible pipe for agricultural drainage, while Goldline is a single-wall PE pipe that is also available with geotextile fabric wrap. Goldpro Storm is a high-performance corrugated PP pipe for critical applications. Its EcoAir pipe – which can incorporate up to 100% recycled HDPE – is perforated in order to ensure maximum airflow, so can be used in applications such as grain storage. All pipes are available in a variety of sizes.

Factory locations:

The company currently has eight manufacturing locations across the USA, including its main facility in Prinsburg, Minnesota. It has six plants in the Midwest and two on the west coast. A recent project – in which it supplied its Goldpro Storm drainage pipe for an underground rainwater harvesting system in a new apartment complex in Minnesota – was named a ‘Project of the Year’ in the recent PPI awards.
