MACHINERY | EXTRUDER TECHNOLOGY

the production of PVC pipes will also be seen. The E-Go 60/37 is equipped with a loss-in- weight gravimetric dosing system, which allows complete control of production. Compared to a standard volumeter, it is self-calibrating and allows the weight of material processed by the extruder to be measured in real time, sending continuous feedback to the Digital Extruder Control 4.0 PLC. The latter determines the rotational speed of the screw, depending on changes in the material flow and the mass detected, while keeping the pipe output constant.

resulting in high-quality extruded products, said the company. “The design of the extruder feed screw has always established the productivity and quality of the extruded product,” it said. “Our designers are constantly asked to improve the quantity of output without sacrificing quality – or to improve both at the same time.” In addition, the new spiral feed-bush augments

extruder performance. It ensures consistent, uniform feeding through precise control of the flow of materials into the screw. This improves the homo- geneity of the final product and minimises output variations – raising efficiency and reducing waste. A key objective of the Evo range is to save

energy. The new plasticising unit minimises energy consumption, helping to lower operating costs and environmental impact. “By combining state-of-the-art design with

extensive expertise, we have created an extruder that outperforms its predecessors,” said Massimil- iano Vailati, sales director at Tecnomatic. At K2022 last year, the company also released its Extrusion Process Control (EPC I) control system, which allows operators to manage production systems that are increasingly interconnected and integrated.

New technologies At the Plast exhibition in Italy later this year, Bausano will present a number of its latest technologies, including its latest E-Go and MD extruders for pipe production. The E-Go 60/37 extruder is equipped with a head for the production of single-layer 250mm diameter pipes, with Internal Pipe Air Cooling (IPC) included. In addition, the MD118/30 series with induction system and dual outlet head for

It also includes an IP23-rated AC motor, directly coupled to a three-stage gearbox with ground helical gears, bimetallic screws and rifled mouth cylinder, for high resistance to wear. The screw geometries are designed according to the custom- er requirements. The extruder is also equipped with a single-layer

head with Internal Pipe Air Cooling (IPC). Here, air flows in the opposite direction to the extrusion, which cools the pipes intensively and uniformly. With its compact design, it requires little space in the line installation process and, thanks to the IPC, is also reduced in length. In addition, Bausano’s MD118/30 Nextmover

features its Smart Energy System technology. This is an induction system for heating the cylinder, without contact and by means of an alternating electromagnetic field – which significantly reduces component wear for a longer machine life cycle, and cuts energy consumption by 35%. The double outlet head on display – made from carbon steel and chrome-plated surfaces – is fully thermoregulating both externally and internally, says Bausano. Thanks to the optimisation of internal head volumes and compression ratios, a high throughput of up to 2000kg/h can be achieved, with temperatures and melt pressures significantly lower than standard, according to the company.
