recently invested in Polypipe’s Ridgidstorm XL large diameter system to cope with both storm water and milk spillages. Tewkesbury – and the surrounding area – is prone to flooding, so when the dairy expanded its delivery yard it had to build a water management solution that could store and attenuate any excess surface water. Polypipe supplied more than 250m of its large
diameter pipe for the project, to feed an engineered attenuation tank. One important factor was its corrosion resistance: milk spillages from the delivery trucks can mix with the surface water – which can corrode cast iron and steel.

“The interest shown by the pipe industry in these
new extruders has been very lively,” said Gerold Schley, CEO of Battenfeld-Cincinnati.
