manufacturer CPC is using C-Beyond to track production, support order planning, and schedule maintenance to minimise downtime, Coperion reported. In addition, energy consumption data is monitored to support optimisation. “For us, CPC’s digitisation initiative confirms the added value that C-Beyond can offer. We are convinced that will be a groundbreaking tool in the long term, helping customers achieve increases in productivity and sustainability,” said Markus Schmudde, Head of Research & Development, Compounding & Extrusion at Coperion. “Customers now expect faster colour matching,
digital prototyping, and data-driven quality control,” added LYB. “The broader use of inline spectroscopy and digital shade control is enhancing colour accuracy, reducing scrap, and supporting more consistent, recyclable packaging production.” “AI is transforming masterbatch manufacturing by enabling virtual colour and property prediction, formulation optimisation and real-time anomaly detection, to prevent off-spec waste,” continued LYB. “These tools deliver faster colour matches, tighter specifications, reduced scrap and energy use, and improved demand planning. Challenges remain around data quality, standardisation, intellectual property management, and plant-level adoption. Looking ahead, LYB expects AI to integrate lab, production and lifecycle data to automatically recommend low-footprint, compliant formulations that maintain brand colour consist- ency, using closed-loop feedback from converter operations to continuously refine performance and sustainability outcomes.” Masterbatch producer Ampacet launched a
Digital Design Library that allows designers to integrate the company’s materials into three-dimen- sional visualisations of their products in KeyShot’s design-to-market software. The library includes colours and effects in different resin types and, in some cases, for different processes. Mercedes Landazuri, Ampacet Market Insight
Manager, said: “By integrating our advanced colour and effects solutions with KeyShot’s rendering capabilities, we’re putting our innovative materials directly into the hands of designers, enabling them to push creative boundaries while accelerating speed-to-market. This resource reflects our commitment to innovation and collaboration.” Avient’s PCR Color Prediction Service is a digital
tool that is globally available for recycled materials. The tool helps illustrate the colour possibilities or limitations of PCR containing polyolefins or rPET and can help simplify the overall decision-making process for brand owners and technical colorists as well as shorten the time-to-launch of new product ranges, the company said.
