Avient Corporation exhibited at MD&M West 2026 in the US in February to showcase its healthcare material technologies
equipment which could result in fire or explosive situations. Polyamide solu- tions with anti-static characteristics help dissipate static accumulation with different colour solutions such as Tecomid NB30 GR25 YL023 AS (PA6, 25% Glass Fiber Reinforced, permanent anti-static, yellow), Tecomid NB30 GR25 BL031 AS (PA6, 25% Glass Fiber Reinforced, permanent anti-static, blue), or Tecomid NB30 GR25 BL031 AS (PA6, 25% Glass Fiber Reinforced, permanent anti-static, grey) already in heavy use. Tecotek BC40 UF85 WH060 AS (PC/ ABS, unfilled, antistatic, white) is used in mechanical ventilators where it prevents the accumulation of static load.
Sustainability The use of bioplastics in medical devices is growing strongly and expected to expand rapidly over the coming decade.Avient’s Mevopur portfolio offers colour and additive masterbatches and ready-to-use compounds formulated with bio-de- rived materials, including polypropyl- ene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polycar- bonate (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and styrenic polymers. Three manufacturing sites in Malmö, Sweden, Taoyuan, Taiwan, and Jurong, Singapore, have received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification

(ISCC) Plus accreditation, demonstrat- ing that the polymers they produce use a mass balance approach with reliable traceability and identification of feedstock sources. The Mevopur range includes NEUSoft thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), ultra-soft materials providing excellent flexibility, clarity, durability, and customisation options for a wide range of catheters and in-vivo applications, Trilliant HC Healthcare Thermoplastics which span a variety of base resins and offer excellent toughness and durability, and Versaflex HC and Versaflex HC BIO Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs), offering versatile, customisable performance for numerous healthcare applications from tubing to injection- moulded components. Available with a variety of performance characteristics, this product family includes grades formulated without animal derivatives and others with bio-based composi- tions. For example, Versaflex HC BIO BT218 was developed specifically to handle the complexities of biopharma- ceutical tubing with a lower carbon footprint than traditional Versaflex HC TPE or silicone alternatives. TekniPlex Healthcare, became the first company to introduce bio-based compounds for medical plastics applications in 2024. Certified through
