This article presents the results from two different trials in which wood lignans show positive effects on performance and gut health even in com- parison to common AGPs. Supplementation with wood lig- nans offers potential for use as an alternative to AGPs, as these substances are able to improve pathogens counts, immune response and gut structure, with positive effects on performance.
