Core connects farm operations
Farmer Core – an addition to the Trimble Connected Farm solution – leverages the new AutoSync feature, which automatically syncs guidance lines, field names, bounda- ries, landmarks and operator information across Trimble Ag Software and Trimble dis- plays using the Precision-IQ field applica- tion. Precision-IQ is used to collect and manage data from in-field activities. “By re- ducing human error and eliminating the need to manually share data via USB, this new AutoSync functionality improves over- all farm record integrity,” says Trimble. Au- toSync is included with Trimble Ag Soft- ware subscriptions to Farmer Core, Farmer Fit or Farmer Pro. These enable users to work with precision ag data in real time, in- cluding data imported via APIs from third-party displays. ”Farmer Core takes this to the next level and helps our customers move faster and reduce mistakes, saving both time and money.” A Farmer Core sub- scription is $ 199 (€ 178) per year. Connect- ing to Trimble displays with AutoSync re- quires a Display Connection, which is $ 99 (€ 89) per display per year.

Planter mounted soil sensors
Veris Technologies introduces a real-time sensor suite that measures four soil fea- tures while planting or tilling. The iScan+ optimises implement adjustments. It also warns against yield loss due to mistakes with real-time insight into changing soil conditions, while providing high-resolution soil mapping for long term precision ag zones. “Manufacturers are giving growers more options to adjust implements to im- prove equipment”, says Veris president Eric Lund. “Without high quality soil info these infield adjustment features are underuti- lised and can be erroneous.” The iScan+ platform deploys four sensing modules adapted from Veris’ line of soil sensors. These measure moisture, temperature, CEC and organic matter. A real-time display and Bluetooth connection provides growers in- cab visualisation. The data stream is adapt- able to meet implement control needs, and the output files are compatible with all farm software tools. According to Veris, with a simple install and small module components, this technology can be utilised on multiple implements.

Major updates for PHX drone
The new Sentera 2019 PHX fixed-wing drone has been equipped with a new, longer-range high-speed datalink, an om- nidirectional antenna system, and an up- graded, higher-capacity battery. With the upgrades, imaging and scouting large are- as is easier and faster. In the air, the PHX supplies live HD video, still images and live analytics – including stand counts, weed locations, and plant health – all using the newest variants of the Sentera Double 4K sensor payload. PHX sensors for high-reso- lution survey and mapping and thermal products are fully-supported as well. “For 2019, Sentera is delivering the up- dates that most benefit our PHX users. Our focus is on user productivity, cost-per-acre, and operational simplicity,” said Todd Col- ten, chief aerospace engineer. “The 2019 PHX covers large areas faster and with greater payload flexibility, which translates into more options for analytics-based in- sights.” Complete PHX Ag scouting systems start at $ 8,499 (€ 7,599) – with sensor, bat- teries, hard case and everything else needed to fly.
