Natural resources are not going to be infinitely available. This is why humans constantly look for ways to use these re- sources more efficiently and find alternatives. In a sense, farming is no different. Farmers try to use resources and in- puts as efficiently as possible and try to match the amounts used with the quantities crops need, and to minimise the environmental impact.
