Camso RD 4500 tracks for Rowtrac
Updates for Rowtrac versions of the Case IH Quadtrac and Magnum tractors include a new high-durability traction belt option al- lowing faster transit speeds on the road, and an additional traction belt width to suit par- ticular cropping situations. Rowtrac versions of the Quadtrac 420, 470 and 500 run on purpose-designed track frames carrying rel- atively narrow traction belts with a longer contact patch than the regular design, and with settings to suit different crop row spac- ings. For 2019, the tractors will be available with 18in, 24in and 30in traction belts (los- ing the 16in size) but also a 21in size that ca- ters for additional crop row configurations. All four sizes can be had with regular trac- tion belts or the new Camso RD 4500 Series, which is designed to allow these tractors to run at their top speed – 40kph (25mph) – without restriction, including when towing implements. That is up to 50 per cent faster than before, resulting in faster journeys between yard and field.

Lemken field weather station
The field Weather Station was developed by German implement maker Lemken and Dutch company AppsForAgri to provide growers with information to make crop man- agement decisions. It measures soil tempera- ture at 5-20cm (2-8in) depth, and air tempe- rature and humidity 25cm (10in) and 75cm (30in) above the crop. Data are transmitted to an app on a smartphone or tablet every 30 minutes, enabling the app to calculate dew point and leaf wetness. The station can also collect data on wind speed and direction, irradiation values and precipitation, which to- gether can produce ‘when to spray’ decisions. Combined with a rain sensor, the Weather Station can store rainfall data for up to a year. An optional crop care module provides a 14- day weather forecast and a five-day disease pressure forecast for 100+ diseases of 40+ crops. Available from December 2018 from
shop.lemken.com for € 1,425 ($ 1,650). Alter- natively, it can be purchased for instalments of € 235 plus 35 monthly payments of € 33.
PRODUCT SUMMARY Company: Lemken Name: Weather Station Type: in-crop monitor Key feature: provides 30-minute updates of soil and air temperature, plus wind speed and direction, radiation, precipita- tion and rainfall More info:

Krone weighs each bale
Machine manufacturer Krone offers a weighing device on their Comprima X-treme round balers. It is mounted underneath the wrapping table, where the bales are placed and where there spin round and are wrapped in plastic. The weighing is being done at the moment the bale lands on the wrapping table, just before the wrapping process starts. The computer stores the weight of each bale and adds those up per field or per client. That way, the farmer gets a quick overview. According to Krone farm- ers want to know precisely what their fields are producing. Especially when feed, like hay or straw, is being sold after harvest. Krone refers to the big square balers, where weigh- ing devices are available since 2011. Nowa- days almost every big square bale is being equipped with a weighing device. The next step is spot-wise recording of grass, hay or straw yields, according to the company. Krone promises a weighing accuracy of +/- 3%. The weighing device costs € 3.040.
