NAPT Conference Roundup The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Annual Conference and Trade Show took place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma last month. Fourth Round of EPA Funding Opens The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency doubled the maximum number of school buses funded per application in the latest Clean School Bus Program rebate. The funds will be available to recipients not only for the purchase of electric, propane
or CNG buses but also for infrastructure, staff train- ing, consulting costs and more. Applications are due Jan. 9. Learn more at

New Cell Phone Ban in California California is the latest state to require school districts to adopt polices for limiting or prohibiting students from using smartphones during school hours. That includes during the school bus ride. The bill looks to “support pupil learning and well-being,” based on evidence and studies of how
the presence smartphones can disrupt
