Ryan Gray’s April 2024 column shed light on the true cost of electric truck adoption and why school buses are prime candidates for electrification. Read the article at

Your article “Forecasting the Cost of Electric Change” was absolutely fantastic! Seldom does it seem that the big picture is spoken about. Earth’s resources for materials, the impact of the communities, and families whose lives depend on mining, and so on. I suppose it is the culture we live in. I call it a “Prime” world. I want it, and I want it now. I have spoken with so many districts that are sitting on EV buses because the upfront challenges of deploying them had not been put into place. Kenni Jean Schrader, Transportation Supervisor Three Rivers Community Schools in Michigan
The April magazine introduced readers to 2024 National Superintendent of the Year Dr. Joe Gothard (

I love your magazine but would love to see more of the boots-on- the-ground people that make the student transportation industry roll! I am a director and it’s my people that are making the differ- ence. Not distracting from this accomplishment of [2024 National Superintendent of the Year] Dr. Joe Gothard, just pointing out that the magazine doesn’t focus on the grit work going on day-to-day- to-day. Use your voice to promote the industry’s everyday heroes from the smallest of districts to the largest. Facebook/ Amanda Gassaway Rigsby
Editor’s note—We regularly feature boots-on-the-ground professionals online as well as in the annual Garage Stars profiles and Rising SuperStars). Be on the lookout for nominations, or email ryan@

That sweet boy. May he rest in peace and his family find comfort during this awful time. Facebook/ Kelley Anderson
Poor baby, this is heartbreaking. Facebook/ Julie Hunley
Poor little guy and his family. So sad. Facebook/Clint Bryer
So much for drug checks with his company. What drugs and alcohol do to a person’s heart and mind and their families and others caught in the paths. Such a waste and tragedy… LinkedIn/Carol deBoer
