Tony Corpin, president and publisher of STN, wrote an article in the June issue on “The Art of Decision Making.” Read it at stnonline.com/go/9a.

Just finished reading your latest article on STN June issue and it was really a great article. Filiberto “Fili” Bonilla, Director of Transportation Hays Consolidated Independent School District in Texas

STN continues to report on the mask mandate across the U.S. and what different states are requiring as students return to in-person learning this upcoming school year. Read mask-related articles at stnonline.com/tag/masks. The following comment was left anonymously due to senstive nature of the issue.

Many school districts in Iowa stopped following the federal mask order on buses including my children’s school district a couple weeks ago. They now ride a bus full of elementary kids where none are fully vaccinated or are required to mask by the school district.

Mariner East 2 is a 350-mile pipeline across Pennsylvania that transports liquefied natural gas to domestic and waterborne markets. The company retweeted an online article by STN reporting on the Green Bus Summit in April, in which transportation directors spoke about their experience using propane school buses. Read the article at stnonline.com/go/9d.

[Did you know] 1.2 million students are transported daily by 22,000 propane school buses? Propane buses are less expensive to purchase and operate than electric, and schools can reduce emissions by using propane over other energy sources. Twitter/@MarinerEast2

A New York City motorist ran over a school bus driver who stepped out of the vehicle during an apparent road rage incident.. Find more details at stnonline.com/go/95.

That is absolutely terrible. But why on Earth would the driver get off the bus? Facebook/Jackie Cummings Sower

I’d get on my radio and tell dispatch to call 911 immediately and hide under a seat. Facebook/Becky Fry

In May, the Illinois Senate passed legislation that allows for the testing of school bus safety equipment, including extended stop- arms. At this writing the bill was in the House for consideration. Read the online article at stnonline.com/go/9e.

Love my extended stop arm! Facebook/ Denise Ralph Kearns
