Beyond the benefits for students’ health, the environment and district finances, switching to electric or cleaner fuels can be part of an educational mission. Stockton USD in California, like other districts, integrates electrification into its curriculum. Stockton students (left) even made videos—in English and Spanish—dressed in green hard hats as Energy Patrol that relays the school’s energy conservation efforts and how savings are invested back into paying teachers and helping students. “We are doing our part,” exclaim the students in the video, while giving the camera energetic thumbs-up.
