More is not always better. Sometimes space becomes refreshing,

allowing the imagination to fill in the blanks. Flohr channels

this thought

process into his art: “On the horizon is going to be a shift

of color palette and I want to go into a more modern color palette,” said Flohr. “Maybe

lighter colors, some grays

along with my bright colors. I want to start pushing the idea of ‘less is more’. Maybe I have really thick areas of paint along with some thin areas of paint, where you can see some of the raw canvas showing through.” Flohr’s objective is also to construct

art that becomes unique while his past creations remain relevant. He aims to maintain the same creative quality he has produced over the years. With a modest tone, Flohr spoke of his latest endeavor: “I’m always trying to push my style to evolve. As you can see, if you look at my pantings from 15 years ago to today, there’s a big change in style — this has to happen. By me pushing myself, it’s time to get out of my comfort zone and discover the next thing.”
