If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be? Something totally different from my job, maybe a farmer.


Which three items would you bring to a desert island? Tools to maintain my livelihood on the island, several books for entertainment, and a magic lamp with three wishes in case I want to return to normal life.


Tea or coffee? Mainly coffee, maybe because I grew up in Italy.


What’s your guilty pleasure TV show or movie? I watch more documentaries and reports than series or movies, but if I had to choose, maybe “Money Heist.”


What’s the most exciting place you’ve visited for work? There have been many, but one I liked very much was Osaka, due to the culture, the people, and the mindset.


If you could introduce one new regulation in air cargo, what would it be? A strict pharma regulation that is really binding airlines to the product integrity like pharma distributors.


What’s your go-to karaoke song? I hate karaoke and singing in general, because I am not talented at it. Describe your job in three words. Visionary, courageous, and persistent.


What’s your hidden talent? I was born in Germany and grew up in Italy; both languages are mother tongues, so I have been educated to travel and to know and accept different countries, peoples, religions, and cultures. This has helped me develop an open mind that can see beyond the usual clichés that people have. I don’t stop at appearances but look beyond them.


If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be? I would improve my public speaking skills.


What’s something on your bucket list? To retire in a farmhouse in the countryside of central Italy.

Marco Del Giudice is the founder and driving force behind the MdG Group, a multifaceted organisation committed to innovation and excellence in the logistics and pharmaceutical supply chain sectors. What was your dream job as a child? F1 driver.


What’s the biggest change you’ve seen in the industry? It’s still ongoing: the digitalisation of global logistics, by implementing AI and, in the future, robotics as well.


How did you get into airfreight/logistics? I started in 1992 in Italy as an accountant and then in customer service in a


What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever shipped? When I was working for Lufthansa Cargo in the 90s, there were several “unusual” objects shipped. One of the strangest was a scenography of 7 tonnes for a wedding of a sultan.


What’s one buzzword you secretly dislike? AI or Artificial Intelligence, because it is very frequently misused and used for explaining concepts that are not very well described and vague.


Window or aisle seat? Always the window. I like to look outside and sleep (if not in business class) with my head against the aircraft wall.


What’s the best business lesson you’ve learned the hard way? I am still learning lessons day by day after every customer visit, board meeting, public speech, etc. Generally, all failures are opportunities for learning and improvements, much more than the success stories.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? My father used to tell me: In life, always look in front of you to see who is doing better than you, but don’t forget to look sometimes also back to those that haven’t been as successful as you.


If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would it be and why? Bill Gates, to tell me what the crucial parts of building his success were; Gandhi, to explain how he managed the unbelievable change of people’s mindset and how he achieved his inner peace; and Gilles Villeneuve, speaking about the amazing Formula 1 times in the 70s.
